Why we love The Sienna
Tucked away in the Hunter Valley, The Sienna feels like a private retreat designed for intimate, elegant weddings. The venue’s Mediterranean-inspired architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds bring a sense of romance and refinement, while the surrounding vineyards remind you you’re right in the heart of wine country. As photographers, we love how the light plays against the terracotta tones and lush greenery — creating warm, cinematic images with real depth. Couples who choose The Sienna often say it feels like a destination wedding without ever leaving the Valley, and the photographs we capture here always carry that same timeless, European-inspired flair.
About The Sienna
The Sienna is a Tuscan-inspired destination wedding estate on 22 acres at Luskintyre, in the lower Hunter, and was formerly known as Calvin Estate. It is set up for a whole weekend: accommodation for the wedding party is included, and there are two-night packages.
Ceremony and reception
There are seven ceremony spaces on site, indoors and out, including an olive grove, a piazza and a ceremony pagoda. The main hall, Gigi’s, seats up to about 250 guests for a formal dinner. As Calvin Estate, the property was known for its light-filled chapel (about 90 seated) and a garden rotunda, so ask The Sienna which of those are part of its ceremony spaces today.
Staying on site
Eleven bedrooms sleep up to 36 guests, so getting ready, the ceremony and the after-party all happen in one place.
Photo spots we look for
With seven ceremony spaces there are plenty of backdrops, and the open acreage around the estate gives quiet space for sunset portraits.
