True to its name, Kookaburra Hideaway is a secluded, tranquil property that feels worlds away from everything — yet still sits right in the Hunter Valley. It’s perfect for couples who want a relaxed, country atmosphere with all the magic of a vineyard wedding. We love the sweeping open spaces, rustic charm, and the way the sunset lingers across the property, painting everything in golden tones. It’s a venue where you can be completely present with your guests while we capture authentic, candid moments that reflect the heart of your day.
About Kookaburra Hideaway
Kookaburra Hideaway is a secluded 25-acre property on Old North Road, Pokolbin, with views across the Hunter Valley to the Brokenback Range. It pairs a main house with The Wedding Shed, its reception space.
Ceremony and reception
Ceremonies are held at The Marrying Tree, next to The Wedding Shed. Listings put the shed at about 110 seated, with floor space for up to about 150, so confirm your numbers.
Staying on site
There is a bridal suite and rooms in the main house, plus the Wallaby Lodges, two large, self-contained, rustic studios. Check what is available for your date, as some cottages have been closed for renovation.
Photo spots we look for
The Marrying Tree for the ceremony, and the open acreage with the Brokenback views for golden-hour portraits. It is one of the quieter, more tucked-away places in Pokolbin.
