About The Convent and Circa 1876
The Convent is a luxury boutique hotel on Halls Road, Pokolbin, and Circa 1876 is its restaurant, set in a restored cottage. Together they give you a hotel to stay in, gardens and a lake for the ceremony, and a beautiful dining room for the reception, all on one estate.
Ceremony spots
- Under the weeping willow by the lake.
- In the Chapel, best for small, intimate weddings.
- In the Wisteria Garden.
Receptions
Circa 1876 hosts up to about 140 guests, and there is an enclosed alfresco area for smaller weddings. Restaurant Eighty-Eight suits gatherings of up to about 60. Confirm numbers with the venue.

The willow and lake, the wisteria in spring, and the estate’s gardens for portraits. Sarah & Jarrod married in the garden at Circa 1876, then we took them to nearby Mistletoe Lane for vineyard views.
