Why we love Wallalong House
Grand, historic, and undeniably beautiful — Wallalong House is one of the Hunter’s most iconic wedding estates. Its 1830s homestead, surrounded by 200-year-old fig trees and sweeping valley views, makes for the most breathtaking ceremony backdrop. We love capturing the contrast between the timeless heritage architecture and the intimacy of weddings held here. From romantic candlelit receptions to golden-hour portraits across the lawns, Wallalong never fails to deliver images that feel both elegant and heartfelt.
About Wallalong House
Wallalong House is a heritage estate just outside Morpeth, about two and a quarter hours north of Sydney. It mixes Georgian and Victorian architecture, and its 1830s stables are fitted with ironwork bought from the Crystal Palace Exhibition in London in 1854.
Ceremony and reception
Ceremonies are held under the four 190-year-old fig trees that line the front of the property. The reception marquee sits beside the pool. Ask the venue for guest numbers and current accommodation options.
Photo spots we look for
The fig trees give one of the best natural ceremony canopies in the Hunter, with soft, even light. The old stables and the house give us heritage texture for portraits. Jelena & Alex’s wedding film shows the estate at its best.
