Why we love Hunter Valley Gardens
Few venues in the region are as iconic as Hunter Valley Gardens, and for good reason. With over 60 acres of themed gardens, couples have the opportunity to say their vows surrounded by roses, under romantic arbours or on lush, manicured lawns that look like something from a fairytale. Every corner offers a new photographic opportunity, from intimate pathways to sweeping vistas. We love how the gardens change with the seasons — from blossoms in spring to rich autumn tones — meaning no two weddings here ever feel the same. It’s a venue that gives us endless variety and allows couples to see their love story unfold in an enchanting, natural setting.
About Hunter Valley Gardens
Hunter Valley Gardens in Pokolbin is a destination in its own right, with ten themed gardens, lakes and a waterfall. For photos, that means a new backdrop every few steps.
Ceremony spots
- The chapel: air-conditioned, seating about 150, set among white ornamental pear trees with views over the gardens.
- The Lakes Walk Rotunda.
- The top of the 10-metre waterfall.
There is also an open-air amphitheatre for a first dance outdoors.
Receptions
The Garden Terrace is the main reception space for up to about 120 guests, with larger numbers in a garden marquee. Confirm current numbers with the wedding team.
Photo spots we look for
The themed gardens give variety without travelling, from formal rose beds to lakes and the waterfall. Abbey & Tyran married in the chapel here before their reception at voco Kirkton Park.
