Why we love Tocal Homestead
Tocal Homestead is steeped in history and surrounded by rolling farmland, making it one of the most iconic Hunter Valley wedding venues. The heritage buildings and rustic barns are full of texture and atmosphere, while the wide open paddocks and big Hunter skies give us endless opportunities for golden, windswept portraits. Every wedding we’ve captured here has a touch of that old-world charm mixed with natural country beauty.
About Tocal Homestead
Tocal Homestead is a heritage homestead near Paterson, in the Hunter’s rolling farmland. It feels a world away from the vineyards of Pokolbin: old trees, open paddocks and historic buildings with real character.
Ceremony options
Marry in the Homestead Garden under the fig trees, or in the Tocal Chapel (chapel hire fees apply).
The hay shed reception
Receptions are held in a restored heritage hay shed, now a stylish function space finished with recycled timber. Listings put it at roughly 120 to 150 guests seated, so confirm the number for your layout.
Photo spots we look for
The fig trees give beautiful open shade for the ceremony and family photos, and the paddocks and old buildings around the homestead are made for relaxed, wide portraits as the sun drops.

The Barracks on site has four bedrooms sleeping about eight, which suits the couple and close family.

Yes, the Tocal Chapel is an option alongside the garden. Chapel hire fees apply.
