About Hickson Street Lookout

Hickson Street Lookout is a secluded clifftop spot above the coast at Merewether, reached by a short bush track from the road. It is part of the Glenrock State Conservation Area, and it is one of Newcastle’s most beautiful places to say “I do”.

Booking the lookout

It is a ceremony location, not a reception venue. Hire is available seven days a week, with one two-hour booking per day including setup and pack-up, and a maximum of 100 guests. The National Parks listing gives a hire fee of $375 per ceremony. Because only one wedding is allowed each day, book as soon as you have a date.

Photo spots we look for

The ocean behind you and the bush around you, so everything faces the view. Afternoon ceremonies get lovely side light, and the walk back along the track makes for natural, candid photos.
