Longworth House is where heritage elegance meets modern style. This beautifully restored venue brings charm, sophistication, and versatility to Newcastle weddings. From its intimate courtyard to grand interior spaces, every corner is filled with natural character and warm light. As photographers, we adore how it photographs: timeless backdrops, rich textures, and an atmosphere that feels effortlessly refined.
About Longworth House
Longworth House is a grand heritage venue in central Newcastle, built for weddings with old-world glamour, from velvet and candlelight downstairs to a light-filled ballroom upstairs.
Ceremony and reception
Ceremonies are held in the Williams Bar, with polished floors, subdued lighting, candles, gilded mirrors and red velvet curtains, and the bar can open for guests straight after. Receptions move upstairs to the French provincial ballroom, with crystal chandeliers and flowing organza curtains. The functions director tailors each package, so ask about guest numbers.
Photo spots we look for
The ballroom’s windows give soft light for portraits inside, and the city’s heritage streets are right outside for an evening walk.
