The beachside setting is simply unbeatable — golden sunsets, sweeping ocean views, and the chance to sneak away for portraits among the caves and shoreline. We love how this venue lets couples embrace the beauty of the coast without compromising on style, with chic interiors and private bungalows that make the day feel like an escape. Every wedding we capture here has a relaxed, effortless magic, with photos that are equal parts natural, elegant, and unforgettable.
About Caves Coastal
Caves Coastal Bar & Bungalows overlooks Caves Beach in Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle. It has beach bungalows, villas and townhouses on site, so it is easy to turn the wedding into a coastal weekend.
Ceremony and reception
Ceremonies can be by the beach, on the hilltop or on the boardwalk, and all have ocean views. Afterwards, guests move to the Pacific Deck for cocktail hour. Listings put receptions at about 150 to 190 seated or 200 to 250 cocktail, with an 11.30 pm finish.
Staying on site
There are 18 beach bungalows plus two- and three-bedroom villas and townhouses, and a beach house for larger groups.
Photo spots we look for
The sea caves and rock platforms at Caves Beach are the reason to marry here. Plan portraits around the tide and sunset. Sophie & Benjamin’s and Jemma & Matthew’s weddings both show the beach at golden hour.
