Sitting proudly on the Newcastle foreshore, Customs House is iconic in every way. Its grand façade and manicured gardens provide endless opportunities for romantic portraits, while the high-ceilinged interiors are perfect for elegant receptions. For us, it’s a dream to photograph — heritage architecture, coastal light, and the energy of the city all in one venue.
About Customs House
Customs House Hotel is in one of Newcastle’s landmark heritage buildings, close to the harbour. It has several function spaces under one roof, so a wedding can run from drinks to dancing without moving venues.
Receptions
Customs Hall is the main wedding room, for about 120 to 140 seated or up to 200 cocktail style. The smaller Harbourmasters Lounge takes about 60. Confirm the current numbers with the events team.
Photo spots we look for
The heritage facade and the harbour foreshore are a short walk away, perfect for portraits as the sun sets over the water.
