About Château Élan

Château Élan sits within The Vintage at Rothbury, a resort set around a golf course and vineyards in the Hunter Valley. Because it is a full resort with villas and apartments on site, the whole day can happen in one place: getting ready in your suite, the ceremony on the lawns or in the Carriage House, and the reception a short walk away.

Ceremony spaces

There are four ceremony settings, each seating up to about 100 guests:

• The Carriage House, an indoor sandstone space, so it is also your wet-weather plan.
• The Summerhouse, an outdoor ceremony spot in the gardens.
• The fairway lawns, open lawns that are beautiful in late-afternoon light.
• The Carriage House terrace, outdoors beside the sandstone building.

The venue includes a registry table, chairs and a midweek rehearsal with its wedding coordinator.

Reception spaces

• The Barrington Room overlooks the 18th green, for about 60 to 90 guests seated, or up to around 200 for cocktail style.
• The Founders Room is the largest space at 300 square metres, next to the hotel, for about 90 to 150 seated or up to around 330 for cocktail style.
• The Carriage House can also host an intimate alfresco reception for up to about 90.

Photo spots we look for

We time portraits for the last hour of light on the fairway lawns, where there is space to walk and nothing to crop out. The sandstone Carriage House and its terrace give texture for family photos and a sheltered option if the weather turns, and the vineyards around The Vintage are close by for a quick golden-hour stop.

Planning tips

Book rooms for family and the bridal party on site so getting-ready photos happen in the same place as everything else. That saves travel time you can give back to portraits. Packages are priced per person: the 2026 package listed $195 per guest, including a five-hour room hire, canapés, a two-course dinner and a beverage package. Ask the venue for current pricing.
