Venue, food and drink usually take the biggest share. Your planner suggests a split based on your stage 1 priorities, and you can move money between categories.

Lesson notes

Where the money goes

Now let's look at where the money goes, and how to make it match what matters to you.

Venue, food and drink

For most couples the venue, food and drink take the biggest share, and they grow with every guest. That is why guest numbers matter so much.

Everything else

Then comes everything else. Photography and film, music, flowers and styling, outfits, your celebrant, cars, the cake and stationery.

Move money to what matters

Remember your priorities from stage one. Move money towards your shared top three, and away from your bottom three. That is how a budget starts to feel like yours.
