Few places capture the effortless romance of Port Stephens quite like Whitesands. Sitting right across from Shoal Bay’s crystal-clear water, this venue is all about relaxed luxury. Picture an afternoon ceremony on the foreshore followed by cocktails as the sun dips behind Tomaree Head. We love shooting here because every angle is photogenic — the turquoise bay, the whitewashed interiors, and the lively atmosphere that makes every wedding feel like a holiday. It’s coastal chic at its finest.
About Shoal Bay Country Club
Shoal Bay Country Club is across the road from Shoal Bay beach in Port Stephens. Its main wedding room is Whitesands, with the larger Convention Centre for big events.
Ceremony and reception
Whitesands seats about 180 guests (150 with a dance floor), or up to 300 cocktail style, and a half-room option takes about 80. Many couples marry at a natural spot on Shoal Bay and walk over for the reception. The club has a rainy-day backup.
