Rank what matters most, each of you separately, then compare. Your shared top three get the most budget and attention; your shared bottom three are where you can save. Your planner uses the ranking to suggest a budget split.

In your planner

Lesson notes

What matters most to you both

Every wedding has more things to spend on than there is budget. Your priorities decide where the money, and the energy, go.

Rank the same list

Each of you ranks the same list, separately. Venue. Food and drink. Photography. Film. Music and dancing. Flowers and styling. Outfits. The guest experience. And the honeymoon.

Top three, bottom three

Then compare. Your shared top three get the most money and attention. Your shared bottom three are where you save, without guilt.

Talk about the feeling

Where you disagree, talk about why. Often one of you cares about a feeling, like wanting everyone on the dance floor, more than a particular thing. And there is usually more than one way to get that feeling.

Your list beats the upsell

Keep this list handy. When a supplier offers you an upgrade, check it. If it is not in your top three, it can be simple.
