Choosing your celebrant

Your celebrant runs the one part of the day where every guest is quiet and listening. Here is how to choose well.

Two or three

Meet two or three. If you can, watch a video of them running a ceremony. You are looking for someone who speaks clearly, sounds like a real person, and makes you feel relaxed.

Authorised and prepared

Check they are an authorised marriage celebrant. Ask how many times you will meet, whether a rehearsal is included, and whether they bring a microphone and speaker that works outdoors.
